MJJ

Today, One year ago I was in a Nice (yeah it was NICE and it was in Nice)summerhouse with my fam totally carefree until I found out about the passing of MJ. I was raised on Michael and Jackson 5, and have been a serious collector since I was 7 years old. It still hurts that he's gone, there will never be an artist like him. I'm sure all that pain is what made him almost superhuman, and may he rest in a better world.

Today one year later it's funny how my own "artistic pain" has led me to be a better rapper and so much has happened for me in the last year.MJJ will forever be my biggest inspiration!

In my i-pod right now

The newest Theophilus London mixtape is in the building and i'm becoming a fan. I donwloaded (yep they're all free) his previous mixtape "This charming mixtape" about 1 year ago and had an ambivalent relationship with it..a bit too abstract and actually not tight enough, the only track that really got me was this one;

However, "I want you" is really nice. Just don't download it if you hate synthesizers. Link to free download here: http://theophiluslondon.net

Creeping out of the cave..

DONE. That's what I am! Ok so I have to release, record a musicvideo, feature on endless albums and do some more live gigs + work but I am free of fuckin theory!!

Yesterday I had my exam and I passed with a 10! more than satisfied, but regardless of grade I am just so happy that my little babies (they're not actually babies it's just that I am the oldest one in my group=mama tia)all passed with good grades and had a good learning experience because that means I have done my job as a group leader well!
After my exam I ran to catch the train to Halmtorvet and ran right up on stage and performed for a private fundraising event intended to support Freemuse (www.freemuse.org), the ONLY NGO in the world that works against music censorship and for the freedom of expression for artists. It was really nice, I got props from all these old board excecutives, cultural ministry department employees etc. and this one 60+ lady told me her daughter was a big fan of me, and although she didn't really listen to "hip-hop" I was the best rapper she had ever heard. gotta luv it.

After that I went home to take a little nap since I had been up, stressing since 7 however I was woken up 15 mins later as I had to practise with KCL for my next show on Sunday in VEGA! Then I had to get ready and run over to meet my girls for burgers and drinks to celebrate we are done.
I disovered this awesome breakfast alternative.

And me & Oly were drunk and Inga came up with more great memorable quotes such as
"I punched him in the face-Quick as a bunny." LOLZ -We also decided that it would be amazing if we could all just co-exist in one big blob because our minds would then be the greatest ever <3 my babies!!!

Finished off the night at Riesen in some kind of bisexual party and walked home as it got light humming sinatra. All in all: today was a good day!

copyright is for losers

"Nobody ever listened to me until they didn't know who I was".
-BANKSY

So the love story must come to an end! I have spent the last 5 months writing my semester project along with some very good uni friends on Banksy and tomorrow is the verdict! I have been preparing for my oral examination for the past 100+hours now and i keep changing my presentation!
The project is a performance design and cultural encounters approach to street art with focus on Banksy. It includes theory on visual perception, semotics, communication and art history..but I think I'm finally going to talk about the similarities between advertising and street art. I find it interesting that a subculture such as graffiti has inevidably become a part of strategic marketing and people like Banksy who oppose it, at the same time play along.
DOES THIS SOUND INTERSTING? feck.my nerves are nervous.

And as soon as I'm done with my exam i gotta run to the freakíng train, step off and step right on stage for a fundraising event i'm playing at. more about that later. Wish me luck!

Bionic bitches!

I'm getting a little tired of the "bionic trend" everyone from Gaga to Kelis to Aguilera is pulling it off and that's why I give it up for this stylish lady!
Robyn's Body Talk pt. 1 is out today and this is in my ipod right now - love this remix!

Another oldie but goodie which is an all-time favorite is this one (by the way if you don't have this Petter album cop it!!

Rave on a sunday

When I was 14 i went to my first rave, it was somewhere by the industrial buildings on Islands Brygge and i didn't like it. I was like 36th chamber bumpin, baggy pant rockin and absolutely not down with smileys..anyway that was 13 years ago (!) and today rave and hip hop mixes like peas and carrots (either you like it or you don't)..which brings me to this video by Ninjasonik:

Am I the only freaking person who missed this one? I love the video it makes me forget it's sunday and makes me wanna go out and rave. It took some growing up to realize I was young all along. (Although I have to admit I do feel a bit old sometimes when i'm out not to mention tired after 2 pm..)
